Golf at Dunston Hall

Mr Santy took 10 year 4 & 5 pupils to Dunston Hall, near Norwich for a tri-golf tournament.

The day consisted of several different activities including putting, driving and chipping.

We learnt how to correctly hold a golf club and the 'tick-tock' motion.

We were also lucky enough to have a go at putting on a real golf green!

M o v i n g MONSTERS!

As part of our D&T project, this half term, we have researching and making moving monsters.

We learnt about how pneumatic systems compressed air to create movement.

Our mission was the construct a monster using only a burger box, table tennis balls, pipe cleaners, paint, card and tin foil.

We then needed to decide how we were going to make our monster move using 2 syringes and tubing.

Firstly we neatly painted our boxes making sure we had chosen a
S C A R Y colour.

Next we drew our eyes making sure they were T E R R I F Y I N G.

Then we fixed on our pipe cleaners so they appeared F R I G H T E N I N G.

Finally we needed to recorded how we had made them.

All that was left was to test them!

Declan, Charlie and Brenna were especially pleased with theirs!

Rainbow salads!

Year 3 and 4 were treated to a healthy eating session during May.

In groups class 4/3G prepared rainbow salads consisting of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, carrots, mushrooms peppers, beetroot and onion.

Each group cut, sliced, grated and peeled their favourite vegetables as their learnt about the importance of vitamins and minerals in their diets.

Handwashing and safety with the utensils was important. As was presentation!

Coran wasn't sure about the mushrooms, but he tried them anyway!

Daniel loved the peppers and wanted more!

Leah enjoyed all the vegetables she tried!

Getting stuck in the mud!

Some year 3 and year 5 pupils went on a trek through Roydon Fen with Mr Santy on Wednesday.

We wanted to study the local area around our school and went for a wander in the wilderness!

Our journey took us past trees both standing

and fallen.

Along narrow paths

and through picturesque fields.

We also made sure we didn't disturb the habitat that surrounded us.

However we couldn't help playing in the mud!

Even if some of us got stuck.....

And although we had to do work including sketches and data collection

We made sure we put our feet up and enjoyed our day out in Roydon Fen!
