Over 1,200 years since they last invaded our shores, Vikings have been seen again!
Pupils in year 3 and 4 designed and created Viking shields in traditional colours.
We studied the weapons and armour used from 793AD onwards.
We also learnt about what the shield
was made out of and why a metal boss
appeared in the middle of the shield.
On Wednesday we made Viking shields. The cover I chose was purple and red. I chose them because I think they stand out. We had to draw round a template, cut it out and design our pattern. Then we painted it and made sure we had a handle and a metal boss. By Jessica
